Hand colored cooper plate engraving by William Curtis. This is a beautiful water lily has original water color work and is from the Curtis Botanical Magazine. This print was published around the 1870's. William Curtis is one of the most well known botanical illustrators of all time. This print is framed in a water gilded gold frame with a 3 inch double mat. The mating is all acid free and closely matches Benjamin Moore paint sample Niveous OC-36(top) and Pine Brook 490(bottom). Did I mention this is a rare Water Lily! The dimensions outside the frame is 13.75 inches tall and 16.75 inches wide. The image shows 5.75 inches tall and 8.75 inches wide.
